Great web site! I am a cottager and was wondering if possible to post a list of people willing to do handyman chores. Small amount of carpentry work etc. I'm sure a lot of us cottagers could use this info

Thank you and I think that is an excellent idea. I'll try to find the information and post it on the site.

I LOVE Seeley's Bay. My family and I travel there every summer for a week of non-stop fishing. This place is wonderful for a married couple, as well as kids!!! There is always something to do, and the people are all so very laid back.

My husband and I bought a house in Seeley's Bay. We were told that it is a nice quiet place. We don't know anyone from the area and I was wondering if there were any community groups we could join to meet some of the people from the area?

There are a number of organizations and groups in the Seeley's Bay area. If you could send an email to "webmaster@seeleysbay.com", I'll be happy to provide you with as much info as I can, including names and numbers if you wish.

Does anyone have any information about a murder on august 3, 1991 in Seeleys Bay?

Is there cable or digital television in Seeley's bay? Do I have to get satellite?

GSBA said...

There used to be cable in Seeley's Bay, but not any more. You need a satellite dish.

I spent my first 12 summers at my grandparents' cottage in Seeley's Bay and miss it very much even after 37 years. If anyone remembers Howard & Louise Putnam, I'd love to hear from you.

Any jobs available close to Seeley's Bay?

Good morning!

Love the site!

I was in Seeleys Bay last year to buy a refurbished wood stove for my cabin and am trying to get in touch with the gentleman I bought it from so I can make an appointment to see him about a cookstove. He's an older man with back problems and sells antiques and wood stoves out of an old board and batton barn with huge windows fronting the building. On the left of the building are lined all the spare parts for wood stoves a guy could ever want and back further behind the barn is a work yard that is probably getting ready to be filled with fire wood for the season.

Hopefully this is enough information for you to help me find this gentleman. If so, please e-mail his business contact information to me and I'll be able to get a cook stove for this winter.

Thank you very much.

phillip.

Hi. I'm moving to the area soon and I'm wondering if there are any dog-walkers or dog walking services near Seeley's Bay that could be posted or made available?

Greetings!

Looks like some friends and I are heading to Seeley's Bay in early June for some fishing. any recommendations for websites to learn more about fishing in that area? We will likely target smallmouth but I am game for anything that bites.

My wife and I are kayaking the Rideau Canal in mid June. We want to stay the night in Selley's Bay. However the only lodging we can identify from a far (Tulsa OK) is the Bay Motel which is 4 kilometers from the Rideau Waterway. That is too far away as we wanted our boats closer to us. Does anyone have any ideas about lodging on or close to the canal waterway. Thanks, Mike Shaw

About all I could suggest would be for you to contact the Resorts/Cottages (http://www.seeleysbay.ca/#4). Prime season doesn't really start until the end of June, so they might be able to accommodate you. Rideau Breeze, Rideau Cove and Sunny Acres are right in the village if that is your preference.

Hi everyone. For the summer issue of the Seeley's Bay Newsletter I would like to do some stories about the traditions of US fishing visitors to Seeley's Bay. For example, why is it that we have been the preferred destination of so many from Pennsylvania since the early part of the last century? What were the ties? What are the legacies of those traditions? If anyone out there is a US visitor to our community and/or has 'welcomed' such visitors, I would love to hear your stories. Email me directly at liz.huff@sympatico.ca
thanks!
